1.Generally, it’s not a good idea to let them free stand. You should stand them up against a wall with a rolled-up towel to prevent indentations. I have dozens of them and they are all leaning against something. Freestanding is pretty much out of the question.

2. I would agree with this. Even if you can get them to free stand, you shouldn’t leave them even for a moment – very likely to fall over. When mine is standing, they have a memory pillow between their backs and the wall. Also, a good idea to put socks and trainers on their feet to protect them.

4. You really need a third point of balance when standing, be it a wall or an object. That said, however, there are some tricks to give the illusion of freestanding for photographs.

When you browse some of the great photos on the forum you may see some dolls appearing to stand freely, even in heels.

However, things may not be as they seem.
Here is an example.
In the first composite photo, Tiffany is using a chair while she adjusts her suspenders.
In the second composite photo, we can see how it was done.
She’s leaning against a stick that is hidden from view. The duct tape holds the stick in place while Tiffany is initially positioned correctly.
